ABOUT AZARIAH

Azariah Rusher is a 21-year-old D1 tennis player and Business Management student at FSU. With cross-cultural roots (Cuban, Polish, and Native American) and an upbringing that spanned from New Hampshire to Delray Beach, Florida. Azariah’s game is a reflection of his journey—disciplined, resilient, and deeply grounded. Alongside his family, he didn't just inherit a tennis legacy; they built one from the ground up, reverse-engineering the game at the highest levels to create a proven blueprint for success.

AZARIAH’S VALUES →

DISCIPLINE & FOCUS‍

On the court, Azariah is known for his intense and physical "all-court" style of play. As a top-ranked competitor, his collegiate career is defined by stepping up in high-pressure moments. He is the 2025 Bedford Cup Champion, 2024 ACC Champion, and consistently ranks among the nation's high-caliber athletes with an ITA career high of #43 in Singles and #54 in Doubles (as of 2026). For Azariah, tennis is about more than the scoreboard; it is a vehicle for mastering the mind and pushing physical limits.

SERVICE & COMMUNITY

True power isn't measured by the speed of a serve, but by the impact made on the people around him. He serves as the 2025-2026 Team Co-Captain for FSU Men's Tennis. Off the court, his commitment to advocacy and community service is extensive. A veteran leader within the collegiate community, Azariah previously served as the President of FSU's SAAC, Co-Chair of the ACC SAAC Executive Board, and Secretary of Athletics for the FSU Student Government Association. Whether he is mentoring youth players, organizing community service initiatives, or uniting a team, Azariah's leadership and service are rooted in compassionate action.

THE "LOVE ALL" PHILOSOPHY

In tennis, “Love All” means zero-zero—a fresh start and an equal playing field. For Azariah, it is the defining ethos of his charitable work. He believes that while mastering oneself is the ultimate goal, true fulfillment comes from helping others do the same. Built on the principles of equal opportunity, hard work, and zero discrimination, his mission is to ensure people are rewarded for showing up and giving their best. As a Team Co-Captain, he knows leadership isn't just about the physical grind and the scoreboard; it is about nurturing the emotional side of the sport. This heart for service is evident in his mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters and his work as ACC Community Service Chair, where he helped lead campus food drives, school outreach, and active support to fundraise for the FSU M tennis program. From hands-on outreach in Tallahassee to beach cleanups with the Spanish River Church in Boca Raton, his faith is the driving force behind his actions. Giving back—including a strict financial commitment to tithing—is a non-negotiable standard for his life and brand. Looking ahead, Azariah is expanding the “Love All” initiative to host free tennis clinics for disadvantaged youth, run local fundraisers, and bring his "Man-Up Monday" ethos to local high schools to teach virtues, faith, and leadership.

INNER & OUTER BALANCE

Azariah’s journey hasn't been without great challenges, both physically and spiritually. He overcame an identity crisis and athletic burnout by shifting his focus from simply "winning" to "leading by example." Today, his life is anchored by faith, daily routines, and a disciplined mindset forged by both Stoicism and the Samurai Code (Bushido). When he isn't training or studying, he is passionate about self-improvement, reading psychology and historical books, journaling, and enjoying the simple peace of the ocean and nature. He actively cultivates his creative side—studying new languages, exploring culinary arts, DJing, and playing the piano to keep his mind sharp and his spirit light.

AZARIAH’S STATEMENT→

THE EVOLVING WARRIOR

"My life is driven by a deep commitment to continuous growth and the relentless pursuit of inner and outer mastery. But that’s only half the equation; the real reason for focusing on discipline in training and work, building wholesome habits, and immersing myself in self-development is to show up at 100% for the people around me. Authentic connections, trusting relationships, faith and spirituality, and how we treat one another are the true cornerstones of who I am. I balance this intensity with lightness by enjoying nature, having fun with others, and sharing the adventure of life. Serious about the purpose, but always lighthearted in the journey."
